Hi, y'll!
This lovely, pink yet minimalistic Elle UK February 11 cover with my favourite model, who's also Girl's doppelgänger Chanel Iman, reminded me that it's the most commercialized and fake occasion soon. Yes, St. Valentine's day, a day when couples, regardless their true feelings towards each other, have to "prove" their love by spending some money on, at time, hideous things. 14 Feb also has an impact on singles - another reminding that you have no partner, and there's no one who'll verify their feelings by presenting a gift.

Perhaps this day brings authentic joy only to new couples, who's love is young and fresh, whatever...
So, I was fashion hunting yesterday and look what I found in my favourite physical Latvian fashion store KLASE. First of all, I'd like to thank all our fans and friends for amazing response and support. People really ask why we have stopped blogging anf when we will be back. Well we already are! I won't hide it - it's getting harder and harder everyday to cope with all that fashion...to intense and too hypocritical (thanks R). S'n'S NYR is to continue our mission to spread a good word about Latvian designer, but meanwhile we were popularising Latvian fashion gems and pearls here, in Latvia. For all those who doesn't know, Boy and Girl have evolved into editors on the very first online high-end fashion magazine in Eastern Europe titled Parterre. Here is collection by SALT. Indra Salceviča stays very true to herself in Spring Summer 2010 - sofisticated cuts, clear lines, lot's of cotton and shirts in blurry mild palette. I really liked kilts and actually I'm going to get one and wear it with tights, of course.

I said it's Riga Drama Week

Hi y'all.
Girl is talking a text, Boy is typing it. This was a better day comparing to yesterday ( Boy asks why?!), because I attended more shows, 3 out of 5 (Boy saw one only ):, but I (BOY) witnessed much more exclUsive things). I loved Atis Artemjevs show - he is our very own Alber Elbaz and I don't even care about that drama with money and debts. (pictures will follow)
Now Boy's typing and Girl is trying to enjoy passion fruit liqueur De Kuyper which you actually suppose to mix with some bubbles. I saw only Shehurina's Show. Say it quick: loved music, models, hair, makeu-up, laces, majority of garments and of course the drama. Now pictures! We also have to party, no more long texts.

RFW SS 11 , day one! (corrected)

Hi, y`all!
Finally, finally I can type it: "y`all"! It's been a tuffest month of the year for me and my fellow. Everyone was talking about it, about Parterre. Some thougt it will be our new blos, some assumed that Parterre could be a venue or a club, and only few quessed that it is going to be a magazin, a fashion magazine. Sure they were right. More detailde info will follow, but I doesn't mean that we are going to stop blogging.
And I'll do it right now....about first day of RFW... in pictures!

Hi, y'all!
As much as I hate to repost fashion journalist-slash-blogger creative articles, before reading mine, please have a look on IT. Read it?! Good! In my previous post I was accusing people in incompetence of their opinions. Looks like Agnesiga is a friend of that person and in order to restore the justice, she wrote an article. I must admit, that she did it well and asked real professionals of graphic design, what the think of RFW poster. However, could you expect a shitty article from an editor-in-chief?! I guess no! Also I'm amazed how much time she has invested in this article, imagine, translating all those comments...The fashion week hasn't even started yet, but look at this drama. I wonder what will happen when it will be on. If these people hate RFW that much, keep on telling that this event boring and meaningless, so why they keep on attending? Why they waste their time on something, what they think is mediocre? I'm sure I know the answer, but lets wait till the fashion week and we'll have proofs. Yes, I might not be a journalist, but I'm certainly credible.

RFW SS 11 is coming

Riga, as any other capital IN the world, has it's own fashion week. People who are really interested and competent in the local fashion industry, this morning have noticed that RFW has changed it's logo design and already posted new poster, where official face of of RFW is mannequin. Let me remind y'al,l that previous years RFW had famous people of Latvian and professional models as "faces". This time they chose mannequin as: "face of the mannequin symbolizes universality of fashion. In order to be in fashion there is no need to be a model or a celebrity. Anybody can “wear”, create, follow or be interested in fashion. Fashion for everybody, - this is a motto of today."

Ok, maybe it's an odd choice, how ever I like the new logo and the concept - fashion for everyone. Fashion for fat people, fashion for vintage people, fashion for kids, fashion for businessmen, fashion for everyone!
It's been only few hours since the official face of RFW has been reviled but what a reaction. Due to privacy I wont name the names, since it all happened in FaceBook.
One of the most famous fashion blogegers of Latvia, who also has to happened is a fashion journalist shared on her/his FaceBook wall the picture you can see above with a comment that: "it's sad, that we (obviously) don't have real and alive models". I'm not sure if she/he was/is aware of the concept, as this person, I guess, hasn't time to get acquainted with the press release so whatever. I responded that there is a deep thought behind it, on what she/he said, that there sure is, there always is and will be. Well professional journalist knows better.
What drove me mad, was comments of Latvian born Interior Architect, who tries to make a production line for home furniture. This person is also quite significant in Latvian fashion industry (it's not BAIBA RIPA) and somehow is involved in Latvian fashion media. So I assume this person has interest and knowledge in fashion. She/he suggested our raising star (according to NY Mag) Ginta Lapiņa as a face of RFW justifying that she is

The Next Big Thing. Well RFW last season's face was another The Next Big Thing Karlina Caune... So I asked Interior Architect why human necessarily has to be used as a face of RFW. He/she agreed with me but said the following: "however any poster's or any other visual informations task is to evoke right associations. This particular poster to me doesn't evoke associations with a modern, trendy (I hope that it is RFW aim) event of the end of first XXI century's decade. Rather it this evokes association with USSR time written science fiction, or in a better case this could be poster for Kraftwerk concert in Prague created in Czech Republic in 90`s" Too bad that Interior Architect has such associations and more worst that she/he seems to be biassed, which is certainly no the most right feature for a person involved into fashion and architecture. I'm looking forward to coming RFW week - it will be not only a place where we'll see the future and meet fresh faces but also it will be our first anniversary. Can you believe it?! It's been already a year!
People think, that I'm a bitchy angry upstart, but I wont tolerate unprofessionally of proclaimed journalists. I am ready to parry a blow, so please comment below.

Good evening, y'all!
Finally I got a chance to write a post - you see Girl and I are mega busy this week and today was actually the only day when we could take a rest, as tomorrow we are going to work a lot! But being Latvian top blog puts a lot of pressure, you know. So I will invest a bit of time into it.
We love grand openings for several reasons - welcome drinks, new faces and new places. You might wonder why it has something to do with fashion and style, well the answer is easy - on openings you always have a bunch of people from fashion industry and a bit smaller bunch of stylish people. This Friday we were invited to a grand opening of a new club, which certainly is style related as it's called D-STYLE. Event was very busy and had a lot of interesting details, which will follow. Food and Fashion in Bar

Hej, y'all!
Yesterday Girl and Boy attended an event Fashion in Bar organised by bar/restaurant Dorian Gray. It's not a secrete, that I, Boy has been involved in Dorian Gray's life and from time to time I'm consulting owners regarding events and other stuff. So continuing restaurant's tradition to entertain related public with some fashio`ish events, we came up with an idea to combine two Fs - Fashion and Food. Restaurants, as in Fashion, also have seasons. So we presented Dorian Gray's A/W menu in a catwalks form. I found it original, in spite of few glitches and overall interesting occasion.

More details tomorrow, gotta dash to a meeting with Girl and then off to club D-Style grand opening!

Hi, y`all!
As any other fashioniastas we, Girl and Boy, start our day by visiting press kiosks to monitor some magazines and weekly journals and get a fresh cup of coffee, excluding coffee - we are now on an extreme detox diet, which doesn't allow to consume any caffeine in any form (black and green tea, cocoa and chocolate are also sources of caffeine), dairy products, not even mentioning alcohol and ciggies. People think that we are a bit out of our minds, however, we just preparing ourselves for Riga Fashion Week, which, you might have guessed, involves a lot of bubbly alcoholic beverages and junk food.
Back to the point - standing and readings some fashion "literature" in Narvesen we were honoured to find our pictures and an article about us in JOY magazine. So we are official: "(..) is one of the most famous blogs in Latvia (...)the only Latvian fashion blog in English" according to Dace Vaivara, editor-in-chief of JOY magazine. We are very proud and inspired for a bigger challenges.

Fashionistas are a bit gossip people too, so we couldn't resist to peep some yellow magazines. We were shocked to find out that that at the age of 31 you are still youngster. Latest issue of Privāta Dzive has a spread where, golden youth of Latvia answers on "10 the most hardest questions in the world". C`mon if you are famous like mentioned Aisha, Nikolajs Puzikovs and Rihards Lepers, it doesn't mean that you are rich and belong to "golden youth". And I mean please, 31 years old musician Lauris Reiniks might be golden, but certainly not youth. The only eligible golden girl is Nikola Krištopane, who's father is an ex prime minister. Well, what could you expect from a gossip magazine?!

Enough of gossips, it'a time for facts. Tonight at 20:30 we are going to fashion bar/restaurant Dorian Gray to have a look an a A/W 10/11 food collection presentation. Rumour has it, that Latvian fashion and style guru - Gundega Skudriņa, Olga Kolotova and Inita Saulīte-Zandere will participate somehow in a catwalk.

Hello designers, oops I mean, good morning y'all!
I watched way to much Project Runway lately and sometimes I think that Tim Gunn lives in my head. I can hear his voice, especially when I do some stupid things. By the way, for all those who are familiar wit the show, it might be interesting for you. - fashion consultant, TV personality (obviously) and chief creative office at Liz Claiborne (Mexx, Juicy Couture etc.) has announced his new book " Gunn's Golden Rules" where, "he shares some of the questionable behaviors he has witnessed people in fashion do. One anecdote claims that Wintour needed a set of bodyguards to carry her down five flights of stairs."(read more)

I'm going to get this book asap, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be juicy. While Riga's fashion scene last week was stuffed with workshops, presentations of new collections like Baiba Ripa at Madam BonBon and other alike exciting events, we, Boy and Girl went to Esplanāde park on Friday to promote healthy life style and celebrate or body and spirit. We just wanted to break the stereotype, that fashion bloggers and, in general, people of the industry are a bit flabby, slightly over weighted chain smokers who loves layers not only because it's trendy, but also of it's disguising abilities. It was fun doing beloved by us BodyPump and BodyBalance outdoors. If you think it's unfashionable, the your fact are all wrong - sports and sporty lifestyle is at the moment biggest trend, besides it makes you look better.

Sveiki, y'all!
There were concerns that Stuff'n'Style is closed as a project and Girl and Boy went into retirement as fashion bloggers, however we can assure you that we are still remaining leading fashion bloggers in Latvia, who writes in English. Both of us wish, that there would be conditions for us to be full time bloggers, but we have some other responsibilities,which for the last moth were prior to blogging. Gladly we still could visit some fashion related events and here is an extract of it:

We are not only proud of some Latvian fashion designers, who are competitive and gaining more and more recognition,but also of local young entrepreneurs, who are implementing modern marketing approaches and believe in local designers. We all know how ideas are flying in the air and any of us is already a millionaire in our daydreaming, BUT in the end of the day, planning and execution is all that matters.

Ilove Elina, and love her shoes designs, in spite of lack of high heels (but she has promised to design some).

Fašon på dansk and Diana

Good morning, y'all!

Have you ever tried to write a post and make a breakfast at the same time? Yes?! But have you ever tried to make an organic breakfast and write a post about Ecco fashion, hosiery extravaganza, Austrian cameras inspired by USSR and organic skin care?! I guess, not! And now I'm trying to do it or make it work.

But first I'd like to introduce you my favourite reality show PROJECT RUNWAY - this is public designers torture, where American top designer aka big fat orange circle MICHEL KORS, fashion director of MARIE CLAIRE with thick hair and hidden Colombian accent and German super model, who cares about tits and boobs describing her thoughts in limited English HEIDI KLUM, decide who's in and who's out. I find this show very amusing - designers less than in two days have to create "mind blowing outfit", "wow the judges" and "make it work" and then get loads of shit from the sad jury. From 24th August till 17th September in art gallery TASTY TELPA/CREATIVE SPACE in Martas street 1 anyone can meet and learn the word of DIANA. Originally DIANA is a camera from 60`s, butnow it's produced by an Austrian company LOMOGRAPHY established by two Fritzs, who in 90`s got inspired but Sovjet camera LOMO. So DIANA is celerbrating it's 50th anniversary by travelling exhibition (all over the world). In Riga 10 local creative people were asked to make a custom design of DIANA camera.

It's very romantic and has a touch of nostalgia, wrapped in yet original LOMO philosophy, which has 10 rules:

1 Take your camera everywhere you go
2 Use it any time – day and night
3 Lomography is not an interference in your life, but part of it
4 Try the shot from the hip
5 Approach the objects of your lomographic desire as close as possible
6 Don’t think (william firebrace)
7 Be fast
8 You don’t have to know beforehand what you captured on film
9 Afterwards either
10 Don’t worry about any rules

The opening of the Exhibition was very strange, crowded and I didn't understood what's going on and I was amazed by a quantity of AGNESE KLEINA's clones! Well done, Agnesiga! You are certainly a trend setter and how you have to feel your responsibility for people's taste level. Anyway Girl and I were rushing to our beloved gym to enjoy the new release of BODY BALANCE. BTW you can purchase LOMO cameras in Latvia too at www.lomography.lv ,but remember that's digital cameras are more eco friendly (just trying to safe you from hypocrisy).

SOCKBOX PÅ DANKS

This year SOCKBOX decided to cooperate with Danish shoe brand ECCO, which apparently is trying to rebrand itself - it is interesting how global brands incorporate local trends. Recently some socialites were shot for ECCO ad campaign, now they are ready to work with local brands. I liked the fact, that it was all about the legs - shoes, even with a midget heels, intensive colours of leggings and stockings, models' power walk and actually hight of runway, made us all to look on legs and not to pay any attention to styling imperfections which were going on on top part. Some might find it odd, but hair pieces were funny in a good way and made whole show more graphical.

It's interesting that they didn't forget about guys too, but the whole look of them wasn't very cohesive to me.

Any way it was a good Wednesday evening, with a glass of wine, some snacks, mingling with socialites and enjoying jazz music.

On a way back I popped in to another presentation of organic cosmetic on line shop www.june.lv. For all those, who are eco-organic-friendly check it out, they even have organic dish washing agents and liquid washing powder.

Maybe you’ve already read somewhere that yesterday we had a special guest who had just come back from NYC (ohhhhh) after spending 3 months there (ohhhh again) . So yesterday he came to visit us wearing Be Stupid t-shirt by Diesel which I absolutely adore (remember, I even wrote a blog post about that campaign a while ago? If not – you can read it here) Obviously you wanna know who was that American boy, right? And here’s the answer – no one else than Markus Riva.

Before we started to chat about his adventures in NYC, Markus gave us a very thoughtful present. I don’t think you know that but me, Boy and Markus as well share this addiction to temporary/fake tattoos which you can find in the bubble gums, cereals etc… I know those thingies are for kids but I just can’t resist to decorate my arms with weirdly looking pink sharks, crazy foxes etc. So….. we got a full page of Diesel’s Be Stupid tattoos. There’s only one word to describe – AWESOME!!! Check the pictures and you’ll see how much fun we had using them.

Not to mention, we were very interested what had happened to Markus Riva while he was in NYC and how he sees his nearest future. So right now Markus is just about to finish his second album and time he was in NYC was spent working for upcoming album which gonna be much more different/ even aggressive than the previous one. Markus writes his music & lyrics himself because (obviously) no one else can better express one’s thoughts and experiences as self. As well Markus got some new photos for his model's porfolio aaand managed to shot 2 (!!!) music videos while he was there. Really can’t wait to see.

Of course he didn’t spend the whole time working, some entertainment was vital as well – so concerts, parties, meetings with old and new friends, shopping (especially vintage shopping), hmmm… jogging in Central Park? Not sure if that’s entertainment though but sounds like fun for me :)
Markus said that it’s weird to be home and that he wouldn’t mind to spend some more time in NYC however it’s a real pleasure to meet his friends here. So right now Markus wants to finish all his music projects here in Latvia and then… well, will see…

Yeah 10 days since last post is frustrating for me. And it is so annoying that nothing significant is happening. Whatever. But we know that there is going to be some fun and pretty soon:
On 28th August at 13:00 in Jurmala on beach near Dizntari Concert Hall will take place Cosmopolitan Bikini Bash - a celebration of semi naked bodies which happens every year in major part of the world. Organizers invites to join everyone (18+) too take part in in and win some prizes (you have to apply on www.cosmo.lv).

Today or tomorrow at creative space TASTY everyone can observe some creative works of our local designers. The task was to decorate iconic-almost-disposable-and-with-USSR-flair camera LOMO. Today we had Alyona Bauska QooQoo who showed her design, whoch looks pretty funny and kind of futuristic.

Our trusty followers shall remember his last Victorian exhibition, which was simply delightful. This time it's even better - Jean Patou, Madeleine Vionnet, Coco Chanel and Jeanne Lanvin garments could be seen live, not in a hurry and in good lighting here in Museum of Decorative Arts and Design (Dekoratīvās Mākslas un Dizaina Muzejs).

Precious Girl and flamBOYant are back from the literally hottest event (in terms of temperature) of the month. We were on a book signing Facehunter by Yvan Rodic, the famous street style (?) blogger. Surely, we belive, that y'all are aware of who Yvan Rodic is and you might agree with us, that he's even not a street style blogger, but the author of culture reflective blog - his captures include fashion, street style, people, places etc, which are clearly a part of any culture.

If you do disagree with us, then he has admitted it by himself. Mr Rodic said that he do not care nor understand fashion and trends, he just takes picture of anything he likes or what stands out from the crowd. We liked his openness and honesty and a feeling that he doesn't really care about what others think.

Styling for a book

Ok, I know it's a really bad habit to start new post saying "ohhh it's been a while since my last post but blablablah". But it's not that we're doing nothing. As mentioned in the previous post (read here). We're involved in one super-mage exciting project about EU knitwear designers. So yesterday was the photo shooting - we had lovely models Terēze & Džeina (2b models), makeup artist Irina and the cutest puppy ever. Photos were taken by Carla Breeze who's also the author of the upcoming book and everything was videotaped by Wayne.

We did styling - actually it was interesting to keep in mind that when doing fashion styling for books, it's important to keep things timeless. Well, that's obvious because you might read that book again after 5-10 years and don't wanna say - "Oh that's so 2010" :D

So it was all about knitwear and we're very proud that AnnaLed was picked as a designer to represent Latvia. Her pieces are so timeless and beautiful. Natural elegance.

As well yesterday reminded me how beautiful Riga is - architecture, atmosphere - everything.

We are so excited...we are involved in some almost epic project, which will result in a book about European Hand knit designers! We won't tell more, as we are only half way though. but soon we'll report more. It's so fascinating, how web works - it's been less than a year, when we started to blog with a mission to spread a good word about Latvian fashion and design to the world, and look, someone got interested in local designers. We are really proud of what we are doing, and we`ll go more further with it.

Hello, y`all!

I know we were a bit "out of touch" lately, but it's impossible to do anything in that heat. However there is still something to share with you!

First of all here are pictures of that pre Spring/Summer 2011 by KatyaKatya Shehurina from that catwalk, which took place in Germany.

Then, y`all are fist to see, what anyone else will see on Monday in next L`Officiel Latvia magazine. It's is a promo by KatyaKatya Shehurina and L`Officiel - anyone who`ll buy Shehurina's t-shirt will get annual subscription to L`Officiel! Isn't that great, it's like double value. I'm very proud of that in our country , there are few designers which have world-class potential. One of them, surely, is Katya . Today was everything and everyone about the Internet celebrities. Actually it all started yesterday, when I met Anna Rozite on shootings (yes, I was working on my b-day and yes, Anna Rozite is an Internet star too. Under that beautiful face hides interesting and creative personality, she appeared to be more open, than I thought.

So this afternoon, I called Anna to invite her for a lunch at D`Vine (if you are interested what I ate, please visit expodaily.blogspot.com), unfortunately she couldn't make it, because she had another photo shootings with a great fashion photographer Nils Vilnis and great fashion designer Indra Miklāva for Cēsis Art Festival ( Cēsu Māklsas Festivāls) exhibition. Photo shootings took place nearby vintage shop Pērle owned by ex MTV VJ Žanete Skarule, who still doesn't great me (yes, I have an issue with it, but luckily unlikely to Una Meistare Žanete wear more colourful outfits).

I Am An Asshole

Hi, y'all!

Well, lot'a of my friends and bloggers are off to Positivus Music Festival and it's been pretty hot lately, so most of the blogs were dead including Stuff'n'Style . But it doesn't mean, that there were no events, or someone been to lazy to work. In fact I have materials for at least 3 post. Ok, they will be a bit from the past but whatever!

Remember, we were writing about designers store Over Score. Well last Monday I got a chance to learn the owner of the shop Aleksandr Parfenov more closer. He appeared to be very friendly, smart and good sense of humour enabled young man. Also I had a chance to study more the shops's content, as we spent there whole day doing shootings for the reality show Calendar.LIVE. Honestly I'm not very fond of Japanese designers, but anyway Over Score is the only place where you can get fresh Junya Watanabe, Comme des Garçons and Yohji Yamamoto along to Dries Van Noten, interesting brand Histoire De Voir, which does leather eyewear. Extraordinary and unique and Thomas Wylde.

The ambience of the store is quite unique, Aleksandr Parfenov invested a lot of time and energy into the interior design. A lot of pieces are origination from Paris. For example some lapms or hangers are from an old Parisian factory. Also the selection of colognes and edt is interesting and I haven't seen anything alike in other shops.

Meet Daniella

Hi, y'all!

I guess everyone was wondering where S'n'S's gone, what's happening on Latvian fashion scene and are we alive at all.Well I'm happy to tell you, that we are perfectly fine, there's nothing really major going on in Latvian fashion biz, but we still have something interesting to share with you!

As some of you might know, me, Boy was involved in one reality show project inspired by the best Latvian photographer Sergey Kondrashin. I'm still not allowed to reveal any significant information but I'd love to introduce you one of the show's contestants, magnificent Daniella T.

I noticed Daniella already on a first day of the show, her beauty is so radiant that you actually cannot miss it, but what attracted me more, was her personality and of course sense of style.

At first you may think, that Daniella belongs to snobbish and superficial kind of girls - I must admit, that there are several bias in our society about what snobbish girls wear. With Daniella it was LV bags, but luckily she appeared to be down-to-earth, smart, very opened person, yet knowing what she wants and achieving it. I'm glad, that during the show we became friendly, it's always nice to be in a company of beautiful and smart young lady. Talking about Daniella's style I would underline that she mixes mass market with luxury good really well, it always looks natural and not tortured, she goes for expensive accessories (her weakness are scarves) and cheap shirts or tee. I hope we'll see more of Daniella pretty soon.

Before telling you why I'm feeding mosquitoes with fašon urbanized blood, I want finally post something about last week, namely - Open Air Vintage Festival vol. 4 and Vita Radzaiņa at TINTO.

OAVF vol 4. was OK, I mean there was dead people's dress everywhere, but luckily that day wind was so strong that I actually din't feel any stench. This time it was a bit boring, despite the growing offer. AND that shopgirl-bitch from stylejoke, which made us delete a picture of her stuff was just too much. Yet again, If you are participating at these kind of events, you expect to get some publicity. This time that girl got none or a bad one.

However good stuff was from my favourite designer Alyona Bauska, who does genius designs and plays with gradients and colours as a master. Well done Alyona, bet next time I'd love to see more gradient leggings which will modify legs even more - this is something unique and this is Ms. Bauska's idea officially. So just try to steal and you will be trashed.

Sex and the City II

Hi, y'all!

Sex and the City is everywhere - as you remember last week there was a big fail (according to countless reviews and post in blogs) premier of the movie in Cinamon theater, Carrie Bradshaw look-alikes contest in Sky&MORE and other Sex and the City related crap. Personally, I was a fan of that sitcom, but last season was of it was all about product placement. If you are somehow familiar with Carrie Bradshaw, of course you went to the first premier of full-length film two years ago just to see how it ended with Mr. Big....it was a crap with fascinating styling and "undercover" product placement.

Last week I still went to S&C II, eventhough SJP is a horrible person, both professionally and as a woman and regardless the acting quality of that 4 women, because I got a free ticket from someone and I needed a potion of Samantha Jones. In fact that it was the only reason why I went. Honestly I don't want to talk about the movie, let's talk about public of that film and it's reaction on it.

First remark: Cinema's foyer was literally stuffed with blond, heeled, make-uped and tipsy girls, who, obviously, were associating themselves with the movie's main character Carrie Bradshaw. I must say it was really pleasant to observe so many beauties. The question is: why the look this way only one in 2 years. That's more than strange to admire Carrie and look like a NYC junkie in everyday life and only dress up for premiers...

Second remark: This was first time ever I witnessed such a reaction on a movie. It all started with titles, when girls cried as sparklish glittering "Sarah Jessica Parker" name appeared on a screen. During 146 minutes of catwalk/product placement, cheesy jokes and botox smiles girl wowed, sighed and gave applauses every time Carrie appeared in a ridiculous hat or outfit.

Third remark: in our country there's no smanthas or mirandas according to what I saw in a theatre.

Yesterday I went to Sex and the City movie too. I don’t know why there is so much criticism about it? As I didn’t expect much then film didn’t disappoint me. It was entertaining even when missing sex and THE city. Overall movie was a massive celebration of exaggeration (4 white Maybachs - yup, Designer gowns, haute couture, heels in the desert (dessert? ;) ) – yup, private jet – YES, changing outfits every 10 seconds - aha). And botox. And stereotypes. And p-p-p-p-roduct placement. I'm pretty sure that one of the trends will be that Carrie's four-leaf clover pendant necklace. And why don't paint walls blue as in Carrie's old appartment? Or name new-born girls as Roses or Lillies :D

I like that everything in the film was all about saying “F*** You, crisis, I just don’t care”. And I really DON’T!

p.s. I went to Bonēra cafe today and it is still lovely. Wonderful place for a nice coffee and cakes :) Thank you! ;)

This week end was stuffed with fashion events - who could predict that?! Girl and Boy were busy this Monday, so sorry for not informing in on time what's and where's and how's :D However here is just a tiny video from event where we went after Open Air Vintage Festival vol. 4 organised by fashion journalist/blogger Agnese Kleina, who did it just fine already for the 4th time! Regardless the content, it's really hard to organise such kind of events. HOWEVER there was a shop girl/bitch (can't remember her name, but I;m gonna find it out) which made us to delete pictures of her dresses. I mean c`mon! When you participate in public events you expect to be photographed

Whatever, the good news are that I'm going on vacation for 4 weeks, which 3 of them I'm gonna spend in a countryside participating as a member of jury aka resident bitch (of course) in a reality show which is going to be something between American Next Top Model and Survivor. Great, isn't it?! I won't tell you more today, buuuut follow S'n'S for hot and juicy report from there!

This time in frames of Sex and the City II movie premier (which were actually two - one in Cinamon theatre, another - Parex Plaza, what is very strange) groups of 4 women dressed in dressed and heeled in heels where everywhere -, cinemas, on streets and in bars and especially in shopping malls. Shopping mall Sky&More surprised us again - Carrie Bradshaw's look-alikes contest was something never-seen-before-in-the-city-where-young-and-handsome-guys-find-it-difficult-to-get-some-sex. I like Sex and the City and, but I hate Carrie Bradshaw's character and Sarah Jessica Parker herself. So after I met Открыто! magazine report crew, who told me that about the contest, I was a bit uncertain whether I will digest overdose of SJP look-alikes. Thanks God, our country hasn't got any of "transvestite donkey which" and women are more than pretty here. But I must say, that the winner of the contest was reminding SJP, but very improved version.

Ahhh i’m so tirrrrreeeed but i know that Boy expects me to write something about today. So after our mega busy day at work we went to:

1) Sock shop Madam Baron opening. I guess if there’s demand, there’s supply too. As the owner of the shop explained Madam Baron is shop for elegant, classical working woman who loves beautiful things and wants to feel special hehe :P Well. Let’s see what future will bring to them as the shop was pretty empty (I kinda expected mooooore socks), hopefully they will find their niche and loyal clients…

2) And then came amazingly nice opening of vintage shop/café Bonera. French chic – check, live French music – check, strawberries and whip cream – check, Coco Chanel – check, cakes – check, cheese – check, good atmosphere – check, little fashion show – check, some vintage stuff – check, oldschool car – check, lovely interior – check, terrace – check, fašonpīpl – check. No seriously, was it a dream? Amazingly good opening of very, verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry nice place. I think me and Boy will go there for a coffee and cake in the nearest future :) right?

That's true what Girl said - we worked today till our head dropped ^_^ and rolled to Vecrīga along Audeju street and stumbled over Madam Baran shop's threshold. I liked Ms Barona approach to the business - research, analysis and true interest in hosiery! Well, as stockings are out of my interests' field I cannot really comment. However that lady promised to bring to the world something exciting, what will help to all women to select hosiery which will pass to their shape and outfits already this August and instead of e-shop, they will introduce express service soon! Imagine: you are a lady sitting in an office, and suddenly, oh Lord, there is a hole in your stockings but the next meeting is just in 15 minutes. All you do is just call hosiery express and they will instantly deliver a pair of fresh and stylish stockings. Looks handy.

Enough of PR for panties and panty hose, let's switch to something, what people in Latvian fashion twitter-o-sphere already named as "the best fashion event of the summer so far" opening of vintage shop Bonera. Girl gave very precise key-word of that events. To my mind it was professionally organised store opening/presentation, where the whole concept has been stated in a flowless and amusing manner.

Grēta and Aija

Grēta and Aija, the owner of the shop gave a greeting speech, where thet said that XX century second and trird decades was the most beautiful and happiest time of human's history, that's why the shop's is called Bonheur, which from French means happiness or welfare. Ladies also referred to Coco Chanel, who's real name was Gabrielle Bonheur. Nice legend for a vintage store. I also liked how they name themselves - delicately used clothings shop (smalklietotu apģērbu veikals). Very nice and cozy shop by all meanings, which can proudly be called as a Vintage shop (no signs of second-hand at all) and surely Girl and I will hang out there during our lunch breaks.

Now gossip/société part.

Finally we had a chat with Inita Saulīte-Zandere, Latvian Anna Wintour, if you want to, who was pretty nice to us, and we mingled about everything including her magazine Pastaiga. If you were a bit worried about Inita Saulīte-Zandere's absence in Twitter, there's no reasons for that. She is just busy with July/August issue which will be published soon. BTW Frau Saulīte-Zandere doesn't like when someone takes picture of her, so, dear followers, please forgive us.

No angry party - I was raised to great people to whom I was introduced once. I know Una Meistare, fashion/travel journalist for a pretty long time, and I always "wave hi" to her and she never responses, what makes me feel like an idiot. So, Una Meistare do you really don't know who I am and where we met, or there are some issues. Anyway I'm tired of that stupid hellos and next time I won't do it.

And an intrigue for a desert. Everyone in Latvia fashion circles are wondering who's Brando Dolles! Check his or hers twitter and you will understand that this person is very familiar to Latvian fashion scene and has an attitude and an opinion on/to it!!! It's not me, and it's not Girl (we spend like at least 8 h a day together). I just checked Brando Dolles's twitter and it looks not really appropriate for fashion incognito. So I suggest to design a logo and a background for his/her Twitter account upload it via Twitpic and ad hash theme #BrandoDollesLogo. Maybe she or he will pick the best!

Oh well... Last week I was lamenting over fašon-empty summer, but look, this week will bring us at least 3 more fashion-related events. Stay tuned and be the first one to know.

Guten Abend, y'all

Wow what an intense weekend we had! It feels like summer has finally come and people are more happy about it than usual. Apparently last winter lasted to long. If you live in Riga, you must noticed that if there is a store opening it's either a pastry or vine store. From time to time it could be something merged. Pity this week is all cold and cloudy...

Last Friday's lunch Girl and Boy went to Tinto Vina Telpas (Vine Space) - it is a new...restaurant/cafe/bar.

Ambiance of that place was pleasant, however I had a feeling that there's something unfinished. While we were waiting for our order, we looked trough i-D summer issue which I bought early in the morning. The issue is uberinformative and exciting, which is odd for summer issues. Even i-D can print some crap in summer! In this issue you can learn more about our favourite band SSION! Finally someone has recognised it, read an interview with Rick Owens and get inspired to be more sporty. This issue is nothing but sports with corresponding photo sessions and star advices. Also I found it funny how editors were obsessed with Lady Gaga and Byonce dialogues.

Service at Tinto was remarkably good and food delicious. I had tapas, omelette and bruschetta with a glass of prosecco, which followed by homemade ice cream selection. Girl had just same ice cream and coffee. Everything only for 11.50 LVL! This place is totally worth visiting more than once. Plus they have a wifi connection which makes Tinto perfect for biz lunches!

I wish we had more free time for blogging. But stay tuned, there will be some EXTRAS already next week!

I hope you’re enjoying the beautiful day and will read this post only on Monday. But as I promised some posts ago to show you one really nice not-really-but-kinda-fashion-related present from my friend in London.

I think if you’re interested in fashion or in interior design and if your daily read includes blogs then you’ve probably heard name Todd Selby and have probably seen his blog http://www.theselby.com/

Well, if you hear Selby’s name first time then here’s a little explanation. I think unconsciously everybody is looking in the windows of other people’s apartments when walking down the street. No, I’m not talking about stalking here. Just noticing little things – like weird lamps or Christmas lightning on the balcony in the middle of the summer, scary dwarf or little pink fountain in the garden or that creepy duck figure on the sill. In my area between all the private houses there is this one building which walls are painted in neon colors. I’m always wondering who are those people living there :)))

So the Selby guy is the one who is shooting different people’s (mostly fashion, art, music related) apartments, their little vases, cats & rats, tons of magazines, collections of stuffed animals (yiiiikes) and other details you haven’t even noticed in your own place. And now the best pictures have been collected in one book “The Selby in Your Place”.

I’m absolutely in love with this book, it’s one of the greatest coffee table books I’ve seen lately. So here are some inspirational/weird/funny/sooo normal pictures (click to enlarge):

Actually my place is nothing special except those skeletons in the closet :D

Oh it's been crazy - this week was so freaking busy. As you know we are not full-time-bloggers, we also have some jobs to do. So the end/beginning of the month is very stressful - reports, papers and documents - all that business stuff which brings you from fašon heaven down to earth. Oh well, now I'v got some spare time. Here is some pictures from annual Latvian Academy of Arts (LMA) fashion students' fashion show. There were plenty of them, we gonna show the one we like though.

Junior year studentSabīne Skarule with conceptual a la most-interesting-fashion-blogger-style collection staring, guess who, yay, fashion journalist Agnese Kleina aka fashion blogger Agnesiga. According to her it was really hard task to model. Well, sure she did it right! By the way Ms Agnesiga is organizing 4th OAVF on 12th June, info here!

Arvils Linde also first year student did great YSLish collection.

2nd year fashion design studen Sabīne Groza did also a great job, something what I would wear.

Marika Džule will become, I hope so, a successful men's wear designer one day! Wearable and yet with a twist!

Daiga Zvirgzdiņa's collection was my favourite - I love when there is a research behind a collection. The collection's title is Shanghai and literally you can see modern Shanghai, which is a harmonic fusion of traditions and modern trends. This is really couture-a-porter ^_^. Something for a brave woman with a strong personality. Well done Daiga!

Arita Varžinska senior year student with her collection took jury's (oh yeah, there were some jury which were picing the best collections) recognition and got an placement at German fasgion designer Annette Kölling's studio. Arita good luck with you internship!

I liked Artis Štamgūts's collection but as we didn't get any plate in a front/second row we had to stand in photographers' area with non photographer's camera with people commenting how shitty our camera is. Honestly, if we'd were sited, everyone would be happy. Sure will get a change to take ok pictures next time.

Oh. I have to go now. Oh BTW this week one great open air party is going to take place in the old town with super music and cool people. Finally! I know where and when. get back to us tomorrow for more info and some fun stuff.

Foot massage is all I can think after 4h standing and watching LMA fashion show. Eh. I know that people probably expect me to write something about the collections and other not-really-blahblahbla but I just don’t know what to say and I can’t really remember which collections I liked and which not so much. Boy has all the pictures so I will say my overall opinion. As always some 3-5 collections were great and progressive, other not at all. I liked collection by Artis Štamgūts, light, wearable and yammy :D. I also liked the men collection with star-printed leggings/shorts and hoodies and I already imagine Boy wearing something like that, sorry but I don’t remember author though. And 2 women collections where nice too but I have a mega blackout so will write about those tomorrow.

After all I spotted 3 LMA fashion trends which I tried to illustrate in the picture bellow. Before that, hear my confession. I think I’ve already mentioned that I can’t sing at all. But that’s not my only imperfection - I can’t draw either. I just hate all the process. I need a quick result and NOW. Not going to erase a thing or shadow something else Yaaaak

But as I don’t have pictures, here are the trends which happen in LMA shows year after year (no I’m not THAT old but still…)

1) Folded everything – jackets, skirts, trousers, coats. I just like it simple and it’s waste of clothes anyways.

2) Masks/Hoods – Kenny from Southpark might like all of those things. But don’t hide pretty models’ faces

3) Shoulders – this was the trend of the year. Spiky, slouchy, architectural – name it, everything was there. Sadly this trend is already a bit out of fashion scene but I kinda liked all those interpretations.

Elephantastic LONDON

I’m back from London - one of my favorite cities in the whole world. I think there’s no need to talk about London as one of the fashion capitals/ shopping paradise / multiculturalism etc. Not even mentioning Royal family, red buses, Big Ben and other blahblahblah :)

In past 4 years I’ve been in London exactly 4 times and it always surprises and inspires me. This time it was all about elephants, flowers and food. Doesn’t sound very fashionably but actually it was. Seems like mission impossible for me to escape fashion related things/events. Wait… nooooo, I’m not complaining at all :)

As I mentioned above London was all about elephants – and, no, I didn’t go to zoo and didn’t spent all time there. From May till July London welcomes Elephant Parade - conservation campaign that shines a multi-coloured spotlight on the urgent crisis faced by the endangered Asian elephant. There were 258 painted elephants in locations across central London. Each decorated by a different artist, fashion designer or celebrity including Diane von Furstenberg, Isaac Mizrahi, Julien MacDonald, Lulu Guinness, Matthew Williamson, Tommy Hilfiger and many more. All elephants are for sale by auction. Ohhh I would love to have some couple in my garden :) and one in the office too...

This girl is one of my bestest friends forever. Thanks A. for a wonderful time :)

No really, those elephants were so adorable that I could literally squeeze one :) ELEPHANATSTIC!

Other not-really-but-kind-of-fashion-related event was Chelsea Flower Show. Ok I’m not into gardening at all but decorations of shop windows were aaaaaaaaamazing! I think the main theme was Alice in Wonderland (what a surprise?).

P.s. If you’re looking for a great place to have dinner, I highly suggest One-O-One seafood restaurant. The service was perfect (they literally filled my glass of water after one sip) and food was absolutely to die for. Check their menu – cooking is such a fabulous form of art :)

That’s all for now but later I will show you one absolutely fabulous not-really-but-kind-of-fashion-related present I got from my friend :)

Just a tiny remark for y'all - I guess we were accused in boringness of our posts and blog in general - that we write some unrelated stuff which even scare away our followers...What do you think, is it true?! From now on we are going to name the names and there won't be any mercy. Zdravo, y'all!

It's not a secret that both Girl and Boy are working in the same company. We moved to a new office recently which is located just right - Brīvības and Dzirnavu corner. Today is a very sunny day and looks like that a long awaited by some fashion bloggers T-Storm is delayed. Just in case I suggest to use FORECA weather forecast, they are more accurate. So I took my laptop and now I'm sitting on a sill and working (now I have a break, so I can write this post). This street corner is amazing, minimum once a week I see a celebrity passing this corner. Few weeks ago it was Markus Riva, Artis Štamgūts (happy birthday, by the way) lately and today already-institutionalize-fashion-blogger Agnesiga aka Agnese Kleina.

June 1st Latvian Academy of Arts is going to give us it's already second fashion students' show. This year's venue is The Latvian Railways History Museum and apparently that's why this event has title Platform (Perons)... I'm still recovering from intense weekend - a blast and refined post about it is here. Today is Monday, so actually I have noting fashion elated to post about, however if you are interested in modelling, or becoming a model for a day, or you have a friend, who is modellish looking, you have a chance to fulfil your dream. Latvian Academy of Arts will have it's annual students' fashion show in early June. Good morning, dears!

Yesterday we (your trusty Girl and Boy, ambitious QooQoo designer Alyona with friends Elena and Matt) went to Valmiera's Art Gallery Laipa to give a small presentation on fashion design, branding and fashion blogs. Alyona talked about QooQoo, her inspirations and pros and cons being designer in Latvia, as well as she showed us a lil sneak peek in her newest creations (QooQoo family is spreading it's zoo).

S'n'S talked about classification and influenece of fashion blogs, what it's like to be a fashion blogger in Latvia. I think we did everything well and it was a great experience. Yuuuhuuu. Thank you Karline, it was a pleasure to meet you and your dad.

We also met our reader and the only fashion blogger Rudu from Valmiera (you can check her blog here), we had a little chat and after all she bought also infamous and beloved QooQoo bear leggings. Isn't that obvious - she will be the most stylish girl in Valmiera.

After finishing our educational mission we went out to see the town. We had a lot of fun there, lot of fast food (we noticed that Hesburger is Valmiera's hotspot), we had some physical injuries (my feet was involved in awful accident, but no worries, I'm alive and no excuses to skip gym) and we all had some mental/fashion-related traumas (but we're fine - no need for rehab). Sadly we didn't have a free space in our car for one super-starish-looking guy who we wanted to kidnap and take with us to Riga (and, no, he didn't know about our plans)... ehh :D After all we were constantly laughing about everything including ourselves. Check our pictures - and you will see why.

Have you noticed some new stores in Riga lately? Yes, I know that many are bankrupted now, but luckily there are some brave entrepreneurs who are willing to take a risk and make our scant shopping range better. This time that brave man are from Estonia. Yeah, right! From that small country on which's people we make fun of. Ivo Nikkolo is one of the first Estonian designers, who has actually created a brand and a store chain, which is far beyond it's origin country - Russian, Latvia, Finland and Lithuania. Now Ivo Nikkolo is owned by Baltika Group, an Estonian fashion holding which has such brands as Monton, Mosaic and Baltman.

Today brand's creative director is Xenia Joost, a young and determined Estonian designer, who dreamt of working at Ivo Nikkolo since her childhood. You see - when a person has a dream of becoming a designer and a strong personality multiplied by hard work and stamina-full motivation, there's no wonder, that one day he or she will graduate Art Academy in fashion design, win few contest and get invited to Vivienne Westwood for an internship and then hired by a big fashion company. And that kind of a person is Xenia Joost.

Today we attended Ivo Nikkolo workshop lead by Xenia Joost, where she explained fashion production chain and how ideas are getting processed not only by designers and māksla, but also analysts and consultants, resulting in garments and ad campaign. Honestly there was nothing new for me, as all of my academical works and thesises were focused around that topic, but it was really nice to refresh it and hear some new examples.

After small intro of fashion business, Xenia Joost offered us to play in fashion researchers and look trough magazines,cut out some pictures and paste it on a A1 paper. Unfortunately available magazines were not that inspiring... Girl almost refused to do that, I was looking for some denim pieces, but two other ladies from our "team" where obsessed with "pretty" pictures and cosmetics ads... And eventually they used non of our choices...Whatsoever, It was really interesting meeting Xenia Joost and our new friend Am who is actually a prospective fashion designer. He found this workshop very annoying as he did the same this 20 million times. Luckily he had his BlackBerry...

As you might know Stuff'nStyle is helping our Brazilian follower Diana M with a research for her final thesis! I inherited these magazines from my evil grandma, who actually is still alive and she used to be a great Riga fashionista. Here are only few magazines - Fall`87, Fall/Spring/Summer`83. I find them very amusing and I totally love those models. Have you noticed how dramatic beauty standards have changes for past 20 years?

So today was the day when long awaited “Love to You” video saw the daylight and… it was good. I like it. Video didn’t have that “made in Latvia” feeling (and that’s good) and it made me wonder – what’s the story behind the song. But I think that the main thing after all is – not the real story but the way you interpret it, how the video makes you feel. And that’s what matters. How you connect the things you see with your own experience.

Hell yeah, you hear/see it first here. I know, that sometimes it's a bit annoying to try to be the first one to post something about an event, but still I like that chase feeling! I really liked that video by Markus Riva, the picture looked really great. However the video with Markus Riva and Anna Rozite directed by Denis Moshkanov plot was a bit unclear to me and I WAS SOBER!!!! Well I'll check that video tomorrow on www.platformamusic.lv when it will be available.

Alright, it is official now - I am an Internet addict. Instead of simply enjoying myself in a garden and playing with dogs I`m now writing this post . Imagine me in a hammock with my laptop. and yes I'm using my neighbour's wifi connection (whoops) I had kind of crazy weekend starting on Friday eving at a birthday party, following with QooQoo champagne breakfast (?) and ending somewhere near harbor. No panic – I'm safe and alive. Check us this evening for a QooQoo champagne and latex QooQoo Bird post.

Tervist, y’all!

Can you imagine that it is the second Thursday in a row when some kind of a fashion event is happening (!) and wow, what a coincidence, I a shopping mall!!! At first I was thinking that is a quick response to Sky&More fašon even with fierce DJ Ella, but no, silly Boy totally forgot about Fashion Is Passion contest, about which I actually have a post -> here! And same people are involved into organization. So no shopping mall mega collisions yet, just alliances.

I don’t know how, but all that Fashion Is Passion contest New Cut semi finals, photo shootings and voting stayed unnoticed by me. Shall I blame myself for being lazy, or is it has something to do with certain PR agencies? (Dears, you have my e-mail). So I assume, that some of our followers were not aware of the contest, (as Boy has no fraking WiFi router at his parents place, now he takes his laptop walks up stair have a little fight with his sister over an Internet cable, Boy wins and has an access to the web), here’s an extract: “Basic idea: changing and combining of damaged and unsold goods from well-known brands, creating a casual, innovative and environmentally friendly and, of course, fashionable collection. Participants: young fashion designers and stylists from Latvia.Prize: 1000 EUR award.”

I don’t know how, but 6 finalist were selected to create a collection using unsold crap from different shops of Domina.

Anyway I arrived to Domina just in time, as I entered the main hall Alisa Orlova waved to me, and I sat next to her. She gave me a copy of magazine ZZL from the future (it will be available in stores from tomorrow), then Agnese Kleina joined our fashion duo.

Whoa, uploading and inserting pictures takes more time than writing a text. Alright, I liked a collection by Ignats Vaitis, because it obviously speaks to and about me :P. My second favourite is Līva Kauķe-Saule's creation, just like it! And of course the winner - Ineta Urtāne was good too.

Just a tiny remark - certainly it is a good cause to make fashion more green/eco-friendly/sustainable, but does it necessary mean to take an old crap and reshape it, despite the best outcome. Why not to put old crap to a machine, which will make a new piece of textile?! Or go a Benetton way. They are recolouring unsold pullovers, tees and other knitted garments into another colour which will be trendy and sell it next season - that's why they are called United Colours of Benetton.

Anyway I'm very glad that something is happening in our tiny country and there are people who are interested in promoting young talents. I doe really hope, that these names above will be mentioned not only in our blog, but soon in local media and a bit later they`ll become recognized globally!

Hiip Hip Hurray to Agnese Narņicka

We are sooooo happy to announce that Agnese Narņicka has won "Baltic Fashion Award 2010" and her men's collection has got Grand Prix - 7500Eur. The event took place in Usedom (Germany) and collections were divided in 3 categories - Pret-a-Porter (Men), Pret-a-Porter (Men), and Innovative design collections. Duo from Germany Astrid Grosser & Gerti Heinrich got the prize in category Pret-a-Porter (Women) and Sandra Straukaite (Lithuania) in Innovative Design.

Interesting that inspiration for Agnese's collection comes from homeless and lazy people. And that's why collection has lot of different prints and layers, and unique accessories - one of a kind hats, Mickey Mouse on shoes etc.

After winning the contest Agnese says that she feels inspired and motivated to keep developing her brand and creating next collection.

After squeezing on tiny caned prosecco Prosecco 2GO Girl went home, but I dashed to a bar called Dorian Grey, where another fashion event took place. This time it was a fashion show by SockBox and Madam BonBon. I liked the concept - almost top less models and all-eyes-on-legs. Catwalk was outside! It was really beautiful. Girl's ImpreŠons Sky&More

Everything is so fake - was my one and only thought after attending Sky&More event. The show started just fine, I would say even impressive - Lord Gaga/Superstārīgs beibītis dancing around the stage, Matrix inspired mountain climber guys coming down from the ceilings and even giant shiny bird DJ Ella performing was acceptable. But when it came to fashion show then my only thought was "Are you kidding me? Is this serious?" I would say first 2 or 3 looks were acceptable and interesting - and made some fashion show impression (magnetic eyed Māra was awesome as always) but then the real "party" started... I think Boy will explain this much more accurately (as I'm almost asleep) but I was laughing and crying whole time about our so called celebrities-bombshells... C'mon! Half-naked catwalk doesn't do a good PR for you! BELIEVE ME. YOU DON'T NEED SUCH AN ATTENTION! Leave it to professional models.

Stuff`n`Style wanted to bring you news first, but apparently stupid FaceBook is overloaded with all my intensive posting and picture uploading.

Ok, this will be tiny text post and in few hours I'm gonna do pictures. Last night Girl and Boy went to SKY&MoRE shopping mall fashion (?) show, which was more show than fashion. I must say is was really spectacular and they really did set a very HIGH standard for that kind of events. I can't wait to see a fashion war between shopping malls. This time all that glitter and shine was more important that substance. They did a great PR inviting all that stars (?) - so next week expect all gossip magazines stuffed with DJ ELLA`s and ELLI U new (?) fronts and cellulite of some other girls.

Then I went to Dorian Grey all bitchy and full of prejudice (which is very bad, I know). SURPRISINGLY is was one great cat walk and party, where I made friends with Anii (hopefully) again. But I`m still gonna be bitchy. And Inese Krūmiņa (owner of SockBox)is fun too. So please forgive me for being such a bitch. And I liked bar Dorian Gray - reasonable prices, nice and neat ambiance and friendly stuff . So I'm gonna hang around there. Itš gonna be my summer hot spot.

We have had lot of discussions about vintage, what it is and what's it not, what's second hand and what's antique etc. I think this video perfectly shows our attitude towards vintage and how to wear it. Vintage is cool as long as it looks modern, when you start to look like your 90 years old grandma or her even older sister, well, it's obviously not cool anymore and the line has been crossed. So consider your age when wearing vintage :)))

Weekend with Stuff and Style

Hallöchen!

Now we will rape not only English, but German too :D We are really international. In fact we are son international, that even our followers from far way are coming to Rīga to meet us, but about that a bit later.

Boy got a bit sick, but that never stopped him from attending a very exclusively-private-mega-trooper-party, which took place on 27th floor in Reval Hotel Latvija. The party was really great - music, video/light installations and people. The only thing, which distracted me from enjoying it was my shitty mood. Sorry fellows again for that, but next time please don't promise me anything you can't do. Ha, pity I could not tale a picture of a blond woman, who was dancing with me and doing CRAZY head shakes (she had very long and voluminous hair and it looked like a blond twister on a dance floor). I wonder what`s her name, she could be my party hag (but there were a rumours, that she`s a she-male).

I got woken up by a phone call from Diana (future designer and our blog follower). She said, that she's coming to Rīga and wants to interview us for her final diploma project. Diana is making a research on post-sovjet fashion in the Baltic States. It was really nice meeting a follower from the other side of Atlantic. We hope, that we helped Diana and that this lovely girl with a sunshiny smile will defend her diploma well!

Oh I have to add, that before meeting with Diana, both Girl and Boy were in a crappy mood. But our follower cheered us up. When we were done with interview, I gave a ring to Alyona Bauska, who told us that she need our help in QooQoo photoshooting. After carrying tonnes of suitcases, which was stuffed with QooQoo clothings, we got to Artūrs Kondrāts studio, where we met models Dāvis Sakne and Beate Stivrina and great make-up artist Aljona Smirnova.
