Bow tie and Anna W for Christmas

Oh what a crazy times - it`s been a week since our last post...but seriously, it's really hard to find some spare minutes for  blogging while you are in that pre- and postchristmas delirium waiting for NYE to come. Thanks God today I don't have to work and can dedicate some time to our blog.

Last Wednesday, finally, I visited store PAVILJONS at DOMINA SHOPPING CENTRE. That was nice experience - a lot of things, which I saw on last RFW was there on hangers! I recommend to check that shop out, and if you still haven't got any clue what to put under your Christmas tree. Or you can simply get a present for your own self as I did. Look, here is another fabulous bow tie by Agnese Narņicka  HYPNOSIS FASHION  just for 10 LVL.

Tomorrow I'm planing to visit PAVILJONS again.  How knows, may be I'll have another consumer impulse and max my credit card out...

BTW Anna W, who is almost blind how, but is is capable of separating text from pictures paid me a visit just before Christmas. No she is on holidays somewhere in the Alps. Anna I miss you, but your latest creations are...strange.

Happy holidays!

Christmas Tree a la Pandora!

I had a wonderful weekend and there were many reasons for it!

I`v been posting about super-cool-worth-attending-and-not-regretting-afterwards party at Salt`n`Pepper. So last Saturday there was "The Lost Disco" party with Djs Dmi3 and Discomethod who have performed absolutely joyful music fro 70`s and 80`s with a New Age twist. Little teaser here:

I suggest y`all to come at Salt`n`Pepper to celebrate  New Year Eve on 31st Dec or next day, on 1st Jan for those who will need some hangover recovery. BTW drinks are really affordable.

As I was posting earlier I had a plan to visit ЯRMARKA, an even organized by Latvia College of Arts during Christmas time, where students are selling their creations. Some pieces were really masterpiece-ish. So if you still don't have any x-mas presents, you may find them there. To the truth, I`m deliberately posting that photos now, because I wanted to make sure, that i`ll get some of this  before y`all, sorry ^_^. They are made out of porcelain and are really unique and atypically designed. Here are the pictures!!!

And here's some extra info: http://www.jarmarka.org/2009/

Also last Friday I was on Avatar, the movie by James Cameron. If you haven`t seen it yet, I'm telling you it`s a MUST. So I`v got really inspired by that film and sets and backgrounds and graphics and script and play and etc. So actually this film made my X-mas tree's design.

And finally, just to tease you more - I know  where and when RFW is going to take place!!! Also there are some other great news, but everything in it's own time.

Dear follower, I`ll be glad to receive and post your Christmas trees!

@ Cosmo party... yeah, we were having fun, right, Boy?

And here's some fun activity... Your opinion matters... :)

Girl & Boy for Maybelline faces???

It's cold out there...brr Christmas time is known not only for festive spirit and mulled wine, but also for, pardon me, shitty weather. Girl complained that this weather conditions makes her wear stuff, which makes her look like a fat penguin or Russian matrjoshka - but it's not true. Girl and I are making a perfect match as a showman couple, but in black colour. I won't post pictures, no f**** way.

It is also known, that a proper meal keeps you warm, so we had a lovely breakfast in our beloved restaurant K.I.D. - pancakes with ham and cheese, yummy. After examinating L`Officiel Latvia DEC issue we decided to have a quick shop tour right there in the old town.

For all those, who complains about poor selection of good clothing in Riga and has money for a good shopping i recommend a store called DECADENCE, where, already starting from this autumn you can buy not only Vivienne Westwood, but also Gareth Pugh (!!!!!) and Rick Owens (!!!!). I must add, that Gareth Pugh was so popular, that only one dress has left. Ladies, you gotta hurry to get this piece. Plenty of Rick Owens, both for men and women. If you like mentioned designers, i advice juts to visit this lovely store with friendly and cozy atmosphere on 13,  Mazā Smilšu street.

There are 3 shops, where you can buy KatyaKatya Shehurina creations, one of them is called Over Score on 16, Smilšu street. Also you can find there brands like COMME des GARÇONS, Yohji Yamamoto and Junya Watanabe. There was a coat which would suit me and Girl, so Christmas a la Japan.

By the way, we are going to attend Latvian Academy of Arts Christmas fair  ЯRMARKA!!! (http://www.lma.lv/?parent=927)

I don't know if I have already mentioned that but I truly love Rick Owens and everything he does I consider as perfect art and lately I kinda like Gareth Pugh too – especially after his spring/summer2010 collection :)

soooo... Dear Santa!
as you know Christmas is coming... I' ve been verrrrrrrrrrrrry good girl lately :) and I know you always have problems deciding what to give me as a present, so I will make this process easier – Rick Owens leather jacket would be perfect surprise (I know you wanted to give me that fancy private jet (according to facebook quiz)... but you know what? As it is crisis – jacket will be just fine :) btw you can read post by Boy and see where you can get one but... hurry up!!! if there' s nothing left – there are plenty of Rick Owens store around the world, so you can get one on your way to me... I will warn Mr.Owens that you will take one :)

...Dear, Mr. Owens!
I just wanted to warn you that if you accidentally see one red wearing man (or deer Rudolph) in your store trying to choose the perfect leather jacket – then no worries – it' s Santa Claus. Give him the best one... xoxo thanks & love you :)

Lost in vintāž (aka vintage)...

I`m just back from Vintage Open Air Festival vol.2 organized by Agnese Kleina feeling a bit queer after yesterdays huge party. Actually i never went to SWAP-O-RAMA at SPACE::GARAGE for a particular reason - after examenating my wardrobe I realized that i have got nothing, but fine clothes which I`ll never swap. So that's why i went to another party where i had few LIIT and got back at 5 this morning, had 3 hours sleep and then my lovely course mate Elina picked my up on a way to my university, where i had a final test, which, i`m hoping, will be good. Then Elina took me to Vintage Open Air Fest, where i`v met Girl.

I`m really appreciating Agnese Kleina's goodwill, she has done a great job, namely she has gathered different designer, craftsmen and celebs under one roof, who were selling their good and some vintage stuff. For example, KatyaKatya Shehurina was selling some pieces from her old collections and, or some girls with vintage clothes.

I`m not really fond of second hand, but i coulnd't resist this Jeans Jacket for 15 LVL (it's going to be my party outfit for tonight). Also i liked bow tie with silhouette of Latvia - really patriotic and I'm planing to get it later.

It was not only me, who has bought some pieces. DJ Ksenia Kamikaza payed some 10 LVL for little cute trunk; Journalist, Julija Rumjanceva awesome striped mini skirt for 2 LVL; and Kirill Simichev, the SPACE:GARAGE man, flashy teddy bear for 5 LVL. It is so wonderful to do shopping for less than double digit.

I was interviewed by Jana, a girl from Zelta Zivtina ad, who is also a fashion blogger (www.ielumode.lv). To tell the truth, i was a bit glitching but Gilr helped me, so actually quote "What's comfortable is unfashionable, what's fashionable - uncomfortable" belongs to her. Thank you daaaarling!

So i saw a lot of pretty stuff which is perfect fro x-mas gifts. I hope Girl and I will make x-mas gifts top10 soon, right?
BTW mulled wine for 2,5 LVL is way too much, sorry! After that fair we went to have a cup of coffee in META KAFE, kewl place with some buts but about tha a bit later.
Girl my head is not working, so i hope you`ll write some more particular information about the thing we have seen today. And whatever you will say - I'm totally with you. Remember about craftsmen invasion? OK, I'm off to RIX airport to pick up some friends from Germany. Have a great evening, everyone!!!!

 ---------------------------------------------------

Hey guys, do you remember that after visiting Tējas Roze (read here) I was talking about grandma who’s completely blind because someone has sold all of her glasses/frames to Tējas Roze. After Vintage Fest I got a feeling that poor grandma is not only blind but also completely naked… :)
I’m gonna be honest I don’t really know what’s the difference between second hand and vintage.  I guess vintage is considered as more upscale and unique because of the age (not sure how old the item should be when considered vintage and when antique?). What’s second hand then? Is it mass production? Anyone? I need help here…

Ok, I’m not a huge fan of all vintage/ 2nd hand things only because I just don’t really know how to wear it. If the dress actually belongs to 80 years old lady then somehow wearing it makes me feel and LOOK like grandma too. But I really, really do like people who can rock the vintage outfit without that smell of grandma’s closet. It’s all about the confidence here. However, I definitely couldn’t resist vintage Chanel, YSL, Balenciaga or Dior even if it makes me look like bizarre old lady… Haha do I sound snobbish? :)

Let’s get back to Vintage Fest – there were also a lot of handmade jewelry and accessories. But you know what, if 6 months ago I would say that embroidered brooch is super unique accessory that really stands out then right now it doesn’t feel like that anymore. Snobbish again?
Whatsoever –event was definitely unique and worth attending and I liked the common atmosphere there. It was inspirational and even if I didn’t buy anything I spend some good time there and met a lot of stylish people... As Boy already mentioned, we met Katya Shehurina and her adorable doggy (btw Jack Russell terriers are one of my all time favorites), Ance from Stils BezTabu who was actually selling nice stuff, Dace/ Jana from Zelta Zivtiņa and many more  :)

gingerbreads are top-stuff now - YES, Christmas is almost here :)

btw if you’re still looking for Christmas presents (and I know you do): here are some ideas…
Girls from Stils BezTabu were selling nice alternative for those who's already sick of žabo invasion:

pretty thing for goodnight sleep from Alise, more info here

aaaand my favorites - deliciously looking bio candles (I could literally eat one)…

That's all for now...
