Obey the dress code or die

Good evening our beloved followers!
In this post we are going to see who's hot and who's not. And to help us to determine who's who, we'll rifer to basics - DRESS CODE. Latvijas Modes un Stila Balvas is quite an official event: cream de la cream of Latvian fashion scene, TV, press, lights, red carpet and whatever else, what's comes along withe a word CEREMONY. So it was naturally, that event's dress code was BLACK TIE. Before making any judgement who's hot, who's not, let us remind what's actually dress code is.
Wiki:
Black tie is a dress code for formal evening events, and is worn to many types of social functions. For a man, the major component is a jacket, known as a dinner jacket  or tuxedo, which is usually BLACK but is also seen in MIDNIGHT BLUE.  A woman's corresponding evening dress ranges from a conservative cocktail dress to the long evening gown, determined by current fashion, local custom, and the occasion's time.
Another definition from about.com:
Formal usually means the same as Black Tie, but in some trendier cities like New York or Los Angeles, it could mean a BLACK shirt, no tie with a tux. Women wear cocktail, long dresses or dressy evening separate
Creative Black Tie leaves room for trendy interpretations of formal wear. He can go more modern with a tux -- maybe a BLACK shirt, no tie. She wears long or short dresses or evening separates.
BTW here you can find everything about black tie - http://www.blacktieguide.com
So summing it up - for gents it's black or dark blue tuxedo, with white shirt and black bow tie (sometimes white tuxedo for only for resort or afternoon occasions), or with black shirt, and for ladies - long or short evening dress, cocktail dress or evening separates.
Enough with definitions, let's move to the fun part.

Marija Rudakova , fashion and beauty editor, magazine Lilit and Lilit.RU and absolutely lovely lady, and Gatis Rozenfelds, photographer and owner of agency F64. Marija Rudakova totally matches the dress code, not just because she's a beautiful woman, but also because of her dress. Mr. Rozenfelds's style corresponds more to creative Black Tie.

Designer Šeila is know for her grotesque sense of style, however she's not violating the dress code. In fact, it's very black tie.

Anita Altmane , fashion editor Pastaiga and a designer (Black Cherry), is wearing something what about.com calls evening separates. I love her new hair style and attitude.

Maija Silova, TV presenter and official Style Icon. Well what can I say - STYLE ICON. I will not get tired of wondering, what that lady does to her hair. It's always perfect.
Agnese Kleina, Klubs's interbet version editor and fashion blogger, which explains her choice. I love colours and sequin dress - very trendy and very blogger style.

Katya Shehurina, the best desinger of 2009. I strongly disagree with quote, that artist is not obliged to be pretty. Apparently Ms. Shehurina doesn't either. <3

Elena Strahova, BFF director. This is something what I call classy classics. Purse is classy, dress is classy, that lady is classy!
Julia Rumjanceva, VIP Lounge fashion editor is wearing Anna Led dress and pear necklace and red lipstick - very reserved and yet elegant. I say YES!

Intars Busulis, the most stylish singer in 2009. With all the respect to him, C'MON, even I'v resisted to wear leggings that night and WHAT A JACKET?  I see some traces of midnight blue, but what's that chequered print all about?! If he has some Scottish ancestors, which I doubt, he should be wearing kilt as well! In that case Black Ties dress code would not be violated. Where's kilt?!

Karlis Zatlers, yes, yes, son of our president Valdis Zatlers. I mean, please!!! His father shall teach him how to appear on social occasions...

Rihards Lepers, the most stylish actor. Shirt - yes, jeans - no.

Sergey Kondrashin and his wife Bogdana. Mr Kondrashin went for Creative Black Tie, which is fair enough - he's one great photographer and Bogda is superb on her own and in Anna Led's  dress.
You might wonder what was my outfit, well let's picture speak for it self.

  2. Nu aiz astēm jau tu visus pievilki pie 'black tie'. Pēc manas gaumes un saprašanas- Busulis izskatījās visorganiskāk (dabīgāk), interesantāk un viennozīmīgi lieliski. Pārfrizētie, pārpucējušies tēli jau ir pārāk klišejiski!

  6. haha Boy aizskaitija jau lidz 20...

  8. NJa, piekritu Anii pedejam komentam. I mean, tas tiesam ir modes pasakums - lai katrs pucejas pec savas saprasanas, galvenais, ka sapucejas. Tapec es Aveni par sliktako stilu pasniegtu Zatleram junioram. Luk, tas tiesam ir parasts skolas ikdienas terps. Busulis vnk bija sapucejies pa savam, tapat ka, jaatzist, Sheila.

Dress code is vajadzigs cilvekiem, kas nesaprot ka un ko javelk. Busula look ir pilnigi ok, tacu nav.piemerots dress code`am. Sis post ir par musu sabiedribas kulturu un etiketu.
